Emotional Quotient

Emotional Quotient Assessment

Acclaimed author and psychologist Daniel Goleman wrote, “Emotional intelligence is the capacity for recognizing our own feelings and those of others, for motivating ourselves, and for managing emotions well in ourselves and in our relationships.” Today, an individual’s E.Q, i.e. Emotional Quotient, is considered to be more important than a person’s I.Q and people all over the world have understood that even the most intelligent man will be unable to make use of his abilities fully unless he has the necessary emotional skills to feel, identify and manage his emotions and behavior. These skills are imperative for effective social functioning and building and maintaining strong relationships. An assessment of Emotional Intelligence helps us understand ourselves better and gives us an insight into our temperament, coping styles, ability to identify and regulate our feelings and behavior as well as our future expectations and desires. This insight, when gained, can help us develop and improve our emotional intelligence and lead to enrichment of our personalities.
