Intellectual Quotient (I.Q)

Intellectual Quotient (I.Q)

Famous psychologist David Wechsler defined intelligence as ‘the aggregate or global capacity of the individual to act purposefully, to think rationally and to deal effectively with his environment.’ Intelligence or intellect encompasses a wide array of cognitive abilities like abstract thinking, reasoning, problem solving, understanding and comprehension, planning and organization and much more. All of these mental faculties put together form the overall ability to keep learning and using past and present knowledge to enhance the quality of our lives. An assessment of intellectual potential helps us get a better understanding of our intellectual capacities as well as gives us an Intelligence Quotient (I.Q), which is a universally accepted measure of a person’s intelligence. This helps us understand our strengths and weaknesses better and helps in effective goal setting.
